Copenhagen, 14 January 2009: Vopium, the Danish based mobile communication company, has announced its sponsorship of Team Saxo Bank, owned by Riis Cycling A/S for the 2009 season.

This professional team of riders will, in the future, use Vopium’s service when competing abroad to make international calls. Also as part of the sponsorship deal, the Vopium brand will be exposed to a huge audience of international supporters that follow professional cycling from around the world.

Team Saxo Bank is owned by Bjarne Riis, former winner of Tour de France. Bjarne Riis’ team philosophy is built on teamwork in the development of a world class cycling team. As a result, the team has for several years proven to be the world’s leading professional cycling team.

Tanveer Sharif, CEO of Vopium, comments, “We, as do Team Saxo Bank, share a common goal of results, commitment and teamwork. We’re thrilled that the team will be using our service when making international calls – and especially, of course, to have the riders of the world’s best cycling team be exponents of our product.”

“I like many others within the Vopium team very much look forward to the excitement that the 2009 season will bring, and wish Team Saxo Bank the very best of luck.”

Bjarne Riis, owner of Team Saxo Bank, says, “Like ourselves, Vopium represents entrepreneurship and leadership; those same virtues that have enabled us to lay the foundations in creating a world-class team in cycling. We’re delighted to welcome Vopium aboard as a partner of the 2009 team.”
